Frequent mouthwash use may cause diabetesÂ
Unexpected result
Using mouthwash may boost oral hygiene but it could raise the risk of developing type-2 diabetes. US researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health say that people who used the product twice a day were around 55% more likely to develop diabetes or pre-diabetes within three years.
The reason for this is that the antibacterials in mouthwash could be killing beneficial microbes which live in the mouth. These microbes protect against obesity and diabetes as they help the body produce nitric oxide.

Hair dyeing linked to increased risk of breast cancer Â
Dangerous chemicals
This is one habit that could have serious consequences. Women who frequently dye their hair could have a 14% higher risk of developing breast cancer, according to Dr Kefah Mokbel, a breast surgeon. According to the Sunday Times of London, Dr Mokbel has carried out a review of research studies to come to this conclusion.
He is concerned that hairdressers recommend that clients dye their hair every five to six weeks. He advises women to dye their hair no more than six times a year and to use natural dyes containing henna.
