Why some people get more severe colds  Â
Nasal bacteria  Â
The organisms that live inside your nose could determine the type and severity of the cold symptoms you develop, a new study has found. Researchers from the University of Virginia School of Medicine have found that cold sufferers whose noses had a great deal of Staphylococcus bacteria had more severe nasal symptoms.
Also, those with more Moraxella – which causes lower respiratory tract infections – had worse symptoms and a greater viral load. The study was published in the journal Scientific Reports.

Using a straw has negative health outcomes   Â
Tooth troubles  Â
While drinking from a straw, the sugar from soft drinks or the acid from wine and coffee may be sent to the molars where cavities are most likely to result. According to www.rd.com, while sipping a straw you may ingest excess air which causes gas and bloating.
The repetitive motion of pursing of lips while sipping a straw results in wrinkles. Drinking with a straw may make you drink more leading to weight gain. Another hazard is leaching of chemicals from the plastic which could affect hormonal levels.
