Why carbohydrates are good for you Â
Low-carbohydrate diets have been a fad for a while now. However, such diets could lead to a person missing out on vital nutrients and fibre, says Daily Mail. Studies show that fibre from carbohydrates lowers disease risk. Carbs also contain important micronutrients such as B vitamins, selenium, zinc and magnesium.
Carbohydrates cover a broad spectrum of foods and include healthy items, like brown rice and oats. With plant-based food gaining in popularity, carbs are making a comeback.

Genes identified  Â
University of Cambridge researchers have found that being thin is very much in our genes. They have identified a series of genes which may speed up metabolism or help burn fat more quickly. The study was published in PLOS Genetics.
It found that in almost two-thirds of the thin participants, their genes make them less interested in food. However, there were thin participants who loved food and ate whatever they wanted without putting on weight as well.
