CERC successfully conducts GSDP courses
In 2020, CERC conducted its second batch of two GSDP courses – Laboratory Assistant for Eco-Friendly Food Testing Laboratory and Laboratory Technicians/Technical Assistants for Energy Efficiency, Star Labelling and other Electrical Testing for Environmental Criteria. The courses were conducted from 7 January to 6 March 2020. A total of 21 candidates participated who were science graduates and from engineering background respectively. The two-month course was entirely residential with free training, boarding and lodging facilities.
The success of GSDP can be measured through direct employment/self-employment generation, initiation of startup business, selection of the participant for higher studies, promotion in the current organisation and also scientific awareness generation which will trickle down to various parts of society regarding current environmental issues.
The first batch of the GSDP courses were successfully conducted in 2018-19. Creditably, 80% of the trainees either got jobs, went for higher studies, joined parental business, etc. This year too six candidates got placed in good companies and a few have opted for higher education. Conducting the GSDP courses has been a historical event for CERC.
