CERS, Bharat Sevak Samaj set up City Centre
Consumer Education and Research Society (CERS), in collaboration with Bharat Sevak Samaj, has established a Consumer Protection Centre for residents of the old city area of Ahmedabad. The City Centre, launched on 12 August 2014, is located in Lal Darwaja area. It will have a Complaints Cell which will address grievances of the public and attempt to resolve them by mediation. It will function once a week on Wednesday (except on public holidays) to begin with, from 12 pm to 6 pm.
The Centre will resolve complaints against manufacturers/suppliers of goods and service providers like banks, insurance companies, mobile and internet service providers, automobile companies, travel and tour operators, airlines, educational institutions, hospitals/doctors and others. While consumers may not succeed on their own, with CERS support their chances are much better. Over 80% of complaints received by CERS are resolved by its intervention.
