ENVIS
Environmental Information System (ENVIS) is a decentralised system with a network of distributed subject oriented Centres ensuring integration of national efforts in environmental information collection, collation, storage, retrieval and dissemination to all concerned. Presently the ENVIS network consists of Focal Point at the Ministry of Environment and Forest and ENVIS Centres setup in different organisations/establishments in the country in selected areas of environment. These Centres have been set up in the areas of pollution control, toxic chemicals, central and offshore ecology, environmentally sound and appropriate technology, bio-degradation of wastes and environment management, etc.
ENVIS focal point ensures integration of national efforts in environmental information collection, collation, storage, retrieval and dissemination to all concerned. Consumer Education and Research Centre is identified by Ministry of Environment and Forest as a node to collect and disseminate information on “Eco-labelling and Promotion of Eco-friendly Products.†The project exists since 2005.

State Consumer Helpline
A call-in, toll free number helpline – the State Consumer Helpline (SCH)- is the first line of advise, guidance and support offered to complainants / consumers. The advantage of this service is, that it is in the local language and accessible to all levels of society in the state. Each state has it own helpline numbers (www.consumeradvice.in), though contact to the toll free number for any state can be made from anywhere in the country. In Gujarat CERC is appointed the nodal centre.

Consumer Advice Centre
Department of Consumer Affairs (DoCA) has identified CERC as one of the Consumer Advice Centers. Consumers receive practical pre- and post- purchase advice for products and services. CERC is also responsible for establishment and operations of other CACs across the Gujarat and co-ordinate activities of CACs and also contribute their expertise and experience by providing staff and information material. There are 22 voluntary consumer organizations (VOCs) across the Gujarat state under the guidance of CERC.
The Consumer Advice Center works closely with the State Consumer Helpline.
